Winter Reading Program – All month long in January
During January kids can cozy up with a good library book to read and earn winter-themed prizes. This four-level program ends with a drawing for a grand prize in each age group: 5 to 9 years old and 10 to 11 years old. They can read any book from our library that they desire. Lego League® – January 4 at 5:30pm-6:15pm
Kids age 6 to 11 can play with our blocks and make new friends in the Nan Abbott Room. Sign up here for fun and building. Kids under 8 years old must be with an adult.
Homeschool Happening: Weird Animal Guessing Game – January 10 at 10:00am-11:00am Strange animal fans can show what they know or learn what they don’t know in this session. Students 6 to 11 years old can sign up by clickng here for fun and learning. Kids under 8 years old must be with an adult. Meets in the Nan Abbott Room.
Pete the Cat Club – January 18 at 6:00pm
Kids 6-11 years old can sign up for winter fun right here with a cool cat. Kids under 8 years old must be with an adult. Meets in the Nan Abbott Room.
4-H Shelby Scientists Club – January 20 at 4:00pm
Kids 9 to 18 years old can sign up by clicking here to join our science club. It’s led by Julie Yocom, Shelby County 4-H Foundation Regional Extension Agent, Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Our focus is decoding secret codes. Meets in the Nan Abbott Room.
American Girls Club: Cupcake Decorating – January 21 at 4:30pm
Winter is here and we’re making marshmallow snowman cupcakes! Fans of the American Girls books, characters and dolls can take part in a fun cupcake decorating class with Miss Candice of Itty-Bitty Bakers. Children age 6 years old to 11 years old can sign up here and come with or without a doll. Kids who are under 8 years old must be with an adult. Meets in the Nan Abbott Room.
