Alabama Symphony Orchestra

Alabaster Connection: Jamie, tell us about Alabaster’s relationship with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra (ASO)?

City Councilor Jamie Cole: Before the pandemic, we had started a great relationship with the Symphony coming to Alabaster as an outreach to our residents. They helped us open the Thompson Performing Arts Center and have made great use of our incredible Bosendorfer concert grand piano. Obviously the events of 2020 curtailed all live music, and we have just begun to rekindle this relationship. It benefits both our city and the Symphony to hold events in Alabaster, and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.

When and what will the ASO perform?

The holiday concert on December 3 will be the first of many ASO performances here in the years to come. The holiday program will feature some seasonal favorites and will also include a special, Alabaster-only performance of an original arrangement by Carlos Izcaray, ASO’s conductor, using the Bosendorfer piano!
