Ya Ya Yarners – April 1 & 15. The Ya Ya Yarners meet on the first and third Mondays of each month at 5:00 pm. Members share crochet and knitting talents as well as work on community service projects. This year our group will provide hats and scarves to local charities and will provide shawls to local nursing home residents. Need to brush up on your skills? Shelby County Camera Club – April 4. 6 pm. The Shelby County Camera Club meets at the Albert L. Scott Library on the first Thursday of each month. The club welcomes those with all levels of photography experience and interest. Meeting takes place in the Nan Abbott Room.

Books & Brews – April 4. 6:30 pm. Come to Siluria Brewing Co. to discuss Pieces of Blue by Holly Goldberg Sloan. Buying a ramshackle motel in Hawai’i, hoping for a fresh start, widow Lindsey Hill and her three children adjust to their new living situation. As she works to restore the motel and her life she gets some unexpected help from a handsome stranger who may have secrets of his own.

ABC & Ds of Medicare – April 8. 1 pm. Karen Haiflich of the Medicare Information Source will help you navigate through the process of Medicare. Learn about filing, benefits, and any other questions you might have. Program takes place in the Nan Abbott Room.

Adult Computer Classes

April 13. 3 pm. Introduction to Laser Cutting – This class will cover the basics of creating a laser-able SVG design in CorelDraw software and the basics of using the library laser cutter safely. Those 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult to use the laser cutter.

April 17. 11 am. Beginning Computers – This class will get you started using a desktop or laptop computer. We will go over internet searching, file creation and saving, and understanding different terminologies.

April 24. 4 pm. Introduction to 3D Printing – Learn the basics of 3D printing, from how the printer works, understanding slicing software, and basic tips and troubleshooting.

Classes take place in the Nan Abbott room.

Library Book Group – April 18. 6:30 pm. Join us to discuss Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See. Sent into an arranged marriage, Tan Yunxian, forbidden to continue her work as a midwife-in-training as well as see her forever friend Meiling, is ordered to act like proper wife and seeks a way to continue treating women and girls from every level of society in 15th-century China.
