Why did you choose Alabaster to build your business?
“I am a lifelong resident of Alabaster and a Thompson High School alumni. In raising my children here as well, I wanted to be able to help make a difference by helping others within the same community that helped raise me.”
What is something folks don’t know about you?
“This is a tough one because I feel like I am pretty much an open book and straight shooter… but for those who might not know me; I am a lifelong Alabama fan and Alumni (Roll Tide!) I enjoy anything outdoors; hunting, fishing, and spending weekends at the lake with my wife and two girls (nine and five years old).”
How did you get into insurance?
“My first job straight out of college was selling cars for Jim Burke Automotive downtown. Although I was making good money, the hours were terrible, and the insurance was insanely expensive. I could not see myself staying in the car business my whole life and thought that if I was having such a hard time personally with my insurance situation, that it was an opportunity for me to help myself as well as other people in similar situations as I was. I bet on myself, got my life and health insurance license when I was 25 years old, started working as an independent health insurance broker from out of my house, and now 20 years later, I have been able turn all of that hard work and grind into a business I could have only dreamed about back when I was 25 years old, here in my hometown of Alabaster.”
