Dear Friends,

It’s that time of year again! Football season in the South is always a special time of year. I can’t wait to see my beloved Warriors take the field and begin their path to winning a fourth state title in a row! Go Warriors! As a former player and alumnus, there is nothing better than the Friday night lights! Recently, Warrior Stadium was voted one of the best places to take in a high school football game. So, I look forward to seeing our community out supporting our Warriors.

With the start of football also brings the start of school. I wish all our students, teachers, staff, and administration the very best this school year. Alabaster City Schools has so much to offer and continues to be recognized as one of the top school systems in the state! We will also see increased traffic now that school is in. As a reminder, Highway 119 is under construction, and there will be delays. Please leave a little early, and plan accordingly.

We were excited to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony at Patriots Park on Friday, July 29. The addition of Patriots Park directly addresses many of the things we heard in our parks needs assessment to add park spaces on the north end of Alabaster. This new park will offer passive and active areas for family recreation, and it is situated close to neighborhoods for easy walkability. We look forward to the Patriots Park project being completed for all our residents to enjoy.

As you are reading this, the city is in the thick of budget season. In the next issue, I will recap the budget and new projects that will start for the new budget year. As always, it is an honor to serve Alabaster, and I’ll look forward to seeing you at a game. Go Warriors!
