How did you get into jewelry making and what kinds of jewelry do you make?
“I got into jewelry making two years ago. I have loved jewelry since I was young. I got into making it after seeing pieces that I loved but the price points were more than I wanted to pay/spend. I make earrings, necklaces, and bracelets with colored beads and gold-filled beads, chains, and clasps.”
What do you enjoy the most about designing and selling jewelry?
“I love being able to pass on attractive, high-quality pieces at an affordable price point.”
What are some challenges with this business?
“Working with tiny beads can really test your patience. :)”
Where do you get the items you use in making your jewelry?
“Most of the supplies I use come from online wholesale jewelry suppliers. Some of my supplies also come from Michael’s and Hobby Lobby.”
Did you grow up in Alabaster and do you enjoy living here?
“I moved to Alabaster when I was three from Mobile. I attended Thompson Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. I graduated THS in 1994. I enjoy living in Alabaster because although it’s a large community it still has a small-town feel. I work at Creek View Elementary School as a Teacher Assistant for kindergarten and I enjoy meeting many families from the community.”
What do you do for fun and hobbies?
“I love to read, especially mysteries. I also like to travel and shop.”

“My favorite restaurants in Alabaster are Chubbfathers, Maya, and Chick-Fil-A.”

“Right now, I just have a Facebook page, Emily Mimbs Jewelry Designs. There is a QR code for it on my business card.”
