In celebration of and support for the enjoyable Taste of Alabaster fundraiser at Siluria Brewery on Oct 9th, AC asked Alabaster Business Alliance (ABA) Director Tracy Coyne a few questions about the organization and the event.

What is the Taste of Alabaster and where do the proceeds go?

“This is our annual event to raise funds for ABA Scholarships which are awarded to Alabaster graduating seniors for college or trade school. Attendees have a fun night at Siluria Brewing Co with live music and tastes from several local restaurants while we have awarded over $20,000 to graduates so far.”

What is the Alabaster Business Alliance?

“A group of Alabaster Business owners and leaders supporting each other and the City of Alabaster.”

How long have you been the director and do you work 25 hours a day?

“I have been leading for 3.5 years now. Sometimes it does feel like 25 hours a day but I do enjoy it!”

How many members are in the ABA and how often do you meet?

“We are 63 members strong now and we meet once a month, usually on the 3rd Thursday.”

When you aren’t running the ABA what is your work gig?

“I am a Realtor with ARC Realty in Hoover and absolutely love helping people find their ‘Home.'”

What is your favorite things about living in Alabaster?

“The people and the vision of our leadership. I Love the big city growth and amenities that are coming but still enjoy the small town feel of running into neighbors at the grocery store.”
